Back home in Monterotondo nearby home, I'm used to help my grandmother with the preparations for the numerous family lunch every sunday. My Grandma did not only teach me how to cook, but inspired me too. When I was only eight years old I asked my granny for red wine and started cooking. Unfurtunately I didn't quite get the proportions right when I added the entire litre of wine to the Bolognese sauce, but my effort to create un unforgettable candle light dinner for my parents made them cry out to joy
Since I finished the chef school in Italy, I learned that in the best cuisines heart and mind have to work toghether in harmony: If you don't put passion into it, it's just a dish.
I´m lucky because I always put all my love into everything I do. Cooking for me is being in contact with my roots. I remember the basic of the authentic italian cousine and then give it the touch of fantasyand creativitty, that is the source for my souces.

The food! It blew my mind. Luigi Valdambrini’s creations like squid pasta, tuna tataki with fennel or even sorbets with ginger, basil and grappa ice-cream make my mouth water even thinking about it. It’s still hard to show you on pictures, you just have to take my word on this one

Round the corner, Bunker’s menu reflects chef Luigi Valdambrini’s Roman roots. It’s small, so you can watch Luigi slaving away in the kitchen as you gorge. It’s only open in the evenings but prices are excellent for the quality:
